So today I had some friends over for dinner tonight. I decided to make the apple crisp again. I did some variations. I used Granny Smith apples, 1/4 cup of honey instead of 1/2 cup, and I put cinnamon sugar on the crumble. I was acutally gonna put on top of the apples but I forgot. So I just put it on the crumble part. This way tasted way better.

APPLE CRISP NORTHERN STYLE
Today I tackled another recipe from "The Laura Secord Canadian Cookbook" It is on Pg. 110-111.
The apples I used from it was Royal Gala. It turned out well. The ingredients that were used were: Royal Gala apples, honey, brown sugar, lemon juice, water, rolled oats, flour and butter. My husband hasn't tried it yet but, my sister in law Jenny, my nephew Dean and my friend Traci has and they enjoyed it. We also served it with Vanilla Ice Cream!
Yum!!!!

Sugar Pie
Today I took a crack at making Sugar Pie. The Recipe is from a cookbook called, "The Laura Secord Canadian Cook Book". I will be trying out a lot of recipes from this cookbook. This Recipe is called "Quebec Sugar Pie" Pg. 178.
Ingriedients are Pie crust, Brown sugar and chopped nuts. I omitted the chopped nuts because I didn't have any. Plus I have had it before without the nuts.
I found it difficult to get the brown sugar to cook into liquid so I had to add some water to bring it into liquid form. I think i might have added a little too much water.
In my opinion I was not successful in doing this recipe. If I try it again I want someone who knows how to make Sugar Pie with me. Yes, I will share about my failures on this blog as well.

Nacho Dip
This is my favorite, Nacho Dip. There has been so many different ways to do it. I played around and found my way. I really love it!
What you need:
Salsa (any heat you prefer)
Roased Red Pepper Cream cheese 250ml
Sour Cream 500ml
Taco seasoning 1-2 tablespoons (your taste)
Shredded Cheese, Tex Mex but any kind will do
1. Empty the cream cheese in to the mixing bowl, mix it with a handmixer
2. Add the Sour Cream, blend that in together
3. Add the taco seasoning and blend it together
4. When all is mixed together, place in serving dish. Smooth it down then add the next layer which would be the Salsa. After Salsa add the shreeded cheese.
Let it sit in the refrigerator till ready to serve with Tortilla chips.
Enjoy!
Welcome
Welcome to my blog! I have been thinking about doing this. I guess the moving Julie and Julia gave me some inspiration. Also not being at work I need to keep myself occupied. So I am going to cook, post recipes and take photos.
